AA Part 2

After a wonderful first impression of Aalborg by night and meeting some very nice people there, it was morning. You know "morning" as in 11.40-12 ish.

Woke up and obviously being dehydrated and not being fed any food during the 4 hour drive from the capital for the up north trip and landing straight in the land of drinking on an empty stomach, will leave its mark on you the following day. You didn't pay for it last night but we will always get you the following day. That seems to be alcohol's favorite motto and it stays true as always. Actually it wasn't all that bad but headache is some of the worst stuff you can have hanging over your head most of the day.
The weather that "morning" didn't make things any better either. It was raining like crazy and we had to leave the apartment to 1. Get some food in our stomaches 2. Go look for a present for an upcoming housewarming we were invited to later that evening.

Not much to do but to get ready for cold weather and lots and lots of water from the skies. One thing I can say about Aalborg is that they make great pizzas in this town. By the way, pizza was on the menu during the whole stay. Not very original choices but if it's good, why not eat it again and again right?

Went to Friis/Salling I think the department store was called and even though buckets of water was falling down on us mortals the city was still buzzing with a decent amount of people who was defying the rain and wind. Upon walking a bit Kris and Rene decided to leave the department store clearly feeling the agony from the drinking from the night before to go home and rest some more. After finding and picking the present for the housewarming Anders & I decided to take a minor detour just to have a look around the city and a small stroll down by the water. It's a lovely little city indeed. I had actually imagined it to be somewhat bigger but I was amazed at how small it actually was. I am clearly a big city kid.

This actually popped up a few days after our return from Aalborg. That's my lovely friend Mia who is also now living in Aalborg since she's also a student here. I don't remember her snapping this pic of us but I do remember writing her and somehow she managed to find me as I mentioned in the previous post. I am very happy that I got to see her during my short weekend stay. Unfortunately she couldn't make it out to town the following day :(

Got home and didn't have too much time to get ready before we had to leave for the housewarming. Meet Pia. She's the one on the left with the blue dress. It was the first time meeting her and she was an amazing host from the get go. You know how it is when you get to come along as your friend's guest then the host of whatever event can't really be bothered to take care of you? Well, there wasn't any of that here. Obviously as the host she had to take care of her fellow students and also some friends from her hometown but she had time to talk and make you feel welcome even though it was our first time meeting her. That's an excellent host in my book and she made sure the snack bowls were full too. The girl on the right is of course Line whom I got to meet the night before. She was looking lovely too this evening.

Here's Rene with Tine and Line. Tine is another girl we got to meet at the housewarming. Very sweet and funny girl. Full of smiles and laughter most of the time.

Yup, great pics taken by me. Clearly judging from the quality of these photos meant I wasn't drunk.

Guess who is in heaven right about now?

Here's Casper aka CJ. A very nice guy who also came to town with us later. He made you feel good around him and told some fun stories as well. Just a real cool and chilled guy to drink and engage in conversation with.

Meet Kate. Pia's friend and happy raver. I give her most excellent points for naming my Comme Des Garçons cardigan. She was also a very happy girl who was smiling a lot and was dancing around most of the time. I liked her a lot since she was full of energy.

I think these are actually the first pictures of Kris who was the trusted captain for our adventure in Aalborg. Without him we wouldn't have a car to take us from Cph. to AA. Getting love from Tine & Kate.

All smiles at the paparazzo!

The host needed to be in some photos too.

Guess who is in heaven right about now?

Not too much leg in this pic Pia, hehe.

Finally went to town later after a great evening at Pia's apartment. Unfortunately she didn't make it to town since she was the host and not all the guests were ready to leave the crib so she had to stay home and eventually stayed the remainder of the night as well.
Basically more drinking and someone got to boogie on the dancefloor too.

Yeah, another excellent night in the streets of Aalborg.

Finally it was Sunday and we got up around 10 and went hunting for pizzas which didn't open until 12. That left us wandering the streets of Aalborg for a little bit which was nice I think. Got to see more of the city and some fresh air always do you good.

After eating and talking a bit it was time to leave Rene and thank him for letting three wild bears crash at his place and it was time to get back in the ride and head home for Copenhagen........

......however, the car alarm had apparently been activated on the first night after our arrival and it had drained the battery so we couldn't start the car. Needed some assistance to jumpstart us back to Copenhagen.

Guess who is in disbelief on a cloudy and grey Sunday right about now?

Luckily no problems with the actual jumpstart and we were soon on our way back to Copenhagen. Very few stops and we weren't stuck in traffic and thanks to Kris's fast and steady driving we were back in Copenhagen in no time. Well, he was doing all the driving and I was tired from two days of partying so all I saw was........zzzz zzzz zzzz zzzz zzzz zzzz in the backseat.

Managed to snap this pic when we were leaving Aalborg city.

This whole roadtrip was fantastic. Great to see Rene doing good and Aalborg truly is the City Of Smiles. I didn't catch any bad vibes from anybody during the whole time and I met a bunch of really nice people. Great food (I mean pizzas) in Aalborg and I can't wait for the next visit. Great first time impressions!!! Have to thank everybody that I got to meet for the good times.
