Due to a pending case versus an electronic store my computer has been AWOL since it had submitted for further research and such. That should explain my long hiatus from my blogging site and the case is still pending so I might have yet another draught coming up which sucks of course since I am not at all tired of blogging about this and that on my mind.
Yes, I could be waiting for Superman to save me from my current issues but that's not something to sit around and pray for. Reality check.......it's not going to happen.
Today I was out in town with my little sister to grab some lunch with her since she was missing Copenhagen's very own Pizzahuset sandwiches which are crazy insane delicious in case you haven't tried them. It's good to have cravings and we both enjoyed our small meal.
Actually, the whole purpose of the day was to go to the movies to check out the new movie which has just come out here in Copenhagen by director Davis Guggenheim. Yup, it's called Waiting For Superman.

Schools in America have issues which leads to the very logical fact that teachers and in the end kids will have issues. If kids in the US are already off to a bad start then you can imagine how bright a future America will have as time goes on.
This movie gives the viewer an insight into how the public school system works in America and why the families and kids who can't afford private schools are very likely to fail in the educational system from the very beginning. A very high number of kids will never get the chance to graduate high school or even enter a high school for that matter.
I knew a lot of things weren't going very well in the US but still some very interesting facts were revealed to me about how the system works against the kids and in many ways not for the kids.
Sad, sad reality.
I think Guggenheim did a very good job with this movie to let the world and most importantly America to see the severe problems created within the system and why some changes had to be made as soon as possible. I didn't walk away with the feeling that he simply blamed the lack of good teachers for failing in educating the young kids who came from poor families and who lived in poor neighbourhoods. I feel like he went deeper into the whole situation and shed a lot of light on the system that works against the kids' futures controlled by numerous unions, politics and other ridiculous rules. The most ridiculous and outrageous one all comes down to "geography and luck" when certain rules apply to whether or not a kid is qualified to be in a certain school's lottery draft and luck comes in play to have your number picked out to be eligible for that one school which could be life changing and life saving for millions of kids around America.
These kids can't rely on hope and prayers and the ultimate dream scenario used as inspiration for the movie's title. There's no use in waiting for Superman. He's not real but these kids' future prospects are very real and the failing school system is real too.
